Manitoba Sustainable Development and the Office of the Fire Commissioner are warning residents and campers of an elevated wildfire danger level.

Hot, dry and windy conditions have elevated wildfire danger levels for many areas of the province. Burning permits have been cancelled in central and eastern Manitoba.

The province is reminding citizens to use extreme caution with any outdoor activity, such as using an all-terrain vehicle. Riders should always carry a small shovel, axe and fire extinguisher.

Open burning is not allowed between April 1 and November 15 without a permit. Check with your local municipality for local bans or restrictions.
