You are welcome to attend a public lecture Wednesday, May 17 on how cargo airships could help Manitoba First Nations communities.

University of Manitoba professor Dr. Barry Prentice will be a speaker at the event to explain how shorter ice road seasons have been causing problems for transporting goods, which has led to the suggestion of using airships. He has become an expert on the subject of cargo airships and will present results from 17 years of research. Judy Klassen, MLA representing the Manitoba riding of Kewatinook will also be speaking about the conditions of the ice roads from personal experience as well as the challenges the remote communities face.

The lecture is a part of the Vision Quest Trade Show and Conference and begins at 7:00 p.m. at the RBC Convention Centre in Room 2H.

There are already some engineering students who are designing possibilities for airships.
