Due to a number of operational roadblocks, Winnipeg's biggest street festival will not be taking place this year.

First held in 2010, Manyfest offered a wide variety of activities and events for attendees to take part in, including a lounge area, food truck wars, a family zone, music and entertainment, a basketball tournament, a pup patio, a wrestling event and a market.

In the late morning of Friday, July 14, Manyfest announced on their social media and website the unfortunate news of the cancellation of the event which was originally scheduled for September 8-10.

"It is with a great deal of disappointment that Smith Events and True North Sports + Entertainment, following consultation with the Downtown Winnipeg BIX, have determined that the presentation of Manyfest will not take place this year," says Manyfest on social media. "Much effort was expended to explore alternative options however, a number of operation factors do not make it possible to run a successful event this year."

It is Manyfest's hope to continue collaborating with their sponsors in the future to host the city street festival again in the future.

The organizers encourage members of the public to check out free events hosted by Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
