Donald Bouchard is the owner of Floodgates Restoration, repairing property damaged in fire and floods. But now he hopes to bring restoration to lives that have experienced destruction.

Bouchard has been hitting the streets of Winnipeg on Tuesday nights for some time, mentoring others at the same time to minister to people on the streets.

"We take Winnipeg by storm on Tuesday nights, going out and talking to people and loving them. We ask them if they need prayer, and we hug them, and love them."

Bouchard is all too familiar with the streets and it's through God that Bouchard experienced his own transformation and restoration, and now he works to share that love of God with others.

It was upon returning from a night of ministry with Love Lives Here, driving around Winnipeg and ministering to prostitutes, that Bouchard had a literal vision for his next project.

"My windshield basically became like a TV screen, and I saw this trailer. God put it in my heart to have a trailer to replenish the homeless." Bouchard hopes to have the trailer stocked with protein drinks, smoothies, and good quality fruits and soups.

Bouchard has done trial runs with his business' work trailer and seen a huge response. "Right now we're giving out just oranges because we're not established. But what we've seen is every time we give oranges, people grab them with such passion. What I realized is, usually people hand out muffins, donuts, and coffee, and now finally the get a fruit, and they grab that fruit like they own it. It's just beautiful."

The vision for the trailer is not just to minister to people in Winnipeg, but eventually, go national.

Bouchard hopes to turn the trailer into a travelling "concession trailer" to go "specifically to the people that fall through the cracks, that live under the bridges and places like that.

"We want to pour into people so that we don't have to feed them forever, and so that they can tap into the love of God, find a place to worship, and just feel loved and cared for."

To pull it off Bouchard needs help. He has started a GoFundMe campaign, for those that feel led to participate in the work he and his ministry partners are doing.
