The Mayors of Winnipeg and Regina have placed a wager on Sunday's West Division semi-final.

Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman announced the friendly bet with Regina's Michael Fougere today.

"In the unlikely event the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are not successful on Sunday, we will be lighting the Winnipeg sign a disgusting shade of green," Bowman said with a hint of sarcasm at City Hall today. "In the event when we of course win, we will see blue and gold in the lights of Mosaic Stadium."

"I look forward to seeing Mosaic Stadium properly lit in the very near future."

The match-up is an intriguing one, as the Roughriders took two of the three meetings between the clubs in the regular season. The Bombers lone win came in a 31-0 beat down at Investor's Group Field.

The Bombers come into the game as the hottest team in the Canadian Football League, having won five of their last six.

The game starts at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Bowman said while the bet is good bit of fun, he just hopes for a good game.

"I want to ask all Winnipeggers heading out to Regina to travel safely and cheer hard for the Bombers," Bowman said. "I obviously want to wish the team and staff and fans the very best."
