An accident involving a semi and pickup truck is causing delays on the south perimeter.

The accident occured at Brady Rd., and has resulted in the closure of eastbound lanes.

A CHVN listener told us that traffic was at a standstill, and backed up past Highway 303.

UPDATE 11:00 a.m.: The eastbound lanes have been closed from Highway 303.

UPDATE 12:00 p.m.: One westbound lane is also closed.

RCMP says the pickup truck was carrying liquid roundup and another liquid herbicide when it was t-boned by a gravel truck which was westbound on Perimeter and turning left onto Brady Road with a load of dirt. The contents of the pickup truck were scattered about. The contents of the dump truck did not spill out however they may have had to dump it out on the side of the road in order to tow it away.

Tow trucks are on the scene right now removing vehicles. Winnipeg Fire Dept attended and neutralized the herbicides and cleaned up the roadway.

Both male drivers, pickup driver was not injured and remains on scene assisting with clean up. The driver of gravel truck suffered facial injury from glass but nothing life threatening.

All lanes on the highway opened again early afternoon.
