It was 20 years ago that Jennifer Hudson was eliminated from American Idol.

Although it was a tough day for Hudson, it was the start of something she could never have expected.

"God turned it around for my good! From Idol to EGOT baby!!! 20 years later, and now back on TV with my own show," said Hudson in a recent post on Instagram.

An EGOT is a person who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony during their career, something that Hudson has managed to do over the past two decades.

Friends and family quickly responded to the post, including actor and comedian, Mike Hill.

"God had bigger plans!! America wasn’t big enough for your talents. You’re now an idol around the WORLD!!" said Hill.

Jennifer says she is glad she pushed through in an industry that can be challenging.

"Never give up on your dreams! If I can do it, so can you! If it’s not worth working hard for, it’s not worth it at all!" said Hudson. "Remember nobody knows your potential the way you do. Just keep the faith, keep believing, and keep going!!!"

Today Hudson is the host of the Jennifer Hudson show. She is also an Emmy award-winning producer, a Grammy-winning artist, an Oscar-winning actress and a Tony-winning producer.
