Union Gospel Mission has a lot to be thankful for after a successful Thanksgiving dinner and chapel service.

"We had a great turn out for our Street Community Thanksgiving Dinner!" UGM said in a release.

The downtown Winnipeg mission had 240 guests for the dinner and chapel service.

UGM says that 50 volunteers gave of their time to help make the event a success.

They also had 48 guests share their prayer requests and each of those was prayed for while they were there.

Perhaps the best news of all is that 36 guests made a decision to follow Jesus Christ after the chapel service.

UGM says that the work isn't over. They are asking others to come alongside now in prayer.

"Please pray for each of our guests, that the Holy Spirit would work in their lives as they grow in their relationship with the Lord. Pray also as they walk through each of their struggles in life, whether it be homelessness, physical or mental health problems, or addictions, that Union Gospel Mission can share the Light of Jesus Christ to them."
