The Winnipeg Police Service has located April Carpenter, who went missing on April 26. 

On Wednesday, May 16, police recovered Carpenter's body from the Red River. The Winnipeg Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit found her off the banks of the river in the 600 block of Kildonan Drive.

The investigation is ongoing and the cause of death is unconfirmed.

The WPS is looking to speak with individuals who may have had contact with April on the evening of Thursday, April 26, 2018, and beyond.

Anyone with information or who may have been in contact with April is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 23-year-old female, April Carpenter. 

Carpenter was last seen in the West End neighbourhood of Winnipeg on Thursday, April 26th, 2018.

Carpenter is described as an Indigenous female, 5'7", 130 lbs, with light brown shoulder length hair and noticeable dimples.

The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned about Carpenter's well-being and is asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250
