ONE SURE THING

Listen Live

An inner-city ministry is gearing up for an Easter celebration this weekend, and they're hoping you can help.

Mary Ann Funk works with Living Bible Explorers (LBE). She says this Saturday will see somewhere in the neighbourhood of 250 kids and their families coming out for an early Easter celebration.

"It's a beautiful thing, just to watch all these families come together"

Each year LBE gets the kids involved in the programming to invite family to the special day. They have a variety of activities for everyone and share a meal together. There's also a special guest speaker each year.

This year's speaker is CHVN's Mike Thom.

"It's a beautiful thing, just to watch all these families come together," Funk says. "They're so happy to be together as a family, and they're excited to hear the gospel."

Funk says it's also a great opportunity for people in the area to meet their neighbours and other families as they share a meal.

LBE could still use some help Funk says. They are in need of several whole hams as well as supplies for salads. As well, she said they would certainly welcome volunteers for the day.

You can contact LBE by calling (204) 786-8667.
