Scribe released his new album on Friday and has watched it climb the charts ever since.

Winnipeg rapper and youth leader Scribe released his latest album, Send Help, on Friday, July 27.

"There's just so much going on in the world, stuff going on in my world," Scribe said about the album's story. "I literally just threw my hands up and said 'help!'"

Send Help took less than two days to rocket to the top of the charts, going to number one on iTunes Inspirational. The album leapfrogged records from Hillsong Worship, Elevation Worship, and Lauren Daigle.

"It's crazy," Scribe said, struggling to find the right words. "There's that many people that can now be impacted."

send helpThe Winnipeg artist said he is honoured to be included among artists of that calibre. He's been receiving a number of messages talking about how the album has inspired them.

Scribe says that his personal favourite song on the album is 'Much Afraid,' which is a cover of an old Jars of Clay song. The band posted the song on their account, which affirmed Scribe.

"The truth is unless you are in those higher brackets, unfortunately, a lot of people who have great messages are not getting them out there," he said about being ranked number one. "For me to be able to see my album shooting up the charts . . . it only opens more doors."

The first single off the album, 'S.O.S.," was released at the end of June.
