Saturday 11:45 am - SEMINARS 1

The World of Cyber-Sex Trafficking – Chapel 11:45 am
David Pollendine, Director of Development & Mobilization for Manitoba and Saskatchewan
This seminar will focus directly on Cyber- Sex Trafficking.  An award-winning 20 min film on IJM’s work in Cybersex Trafficking will be shown, followed by a time of questions and answers. Unfortunately, of 60 countries investigated a few years ago, Canada ranked in the top three for hosting websites and images, and selling material containing child sexual abuse. Not only do we need to be aware but this is an area that needs addressing.

Under Siege, Christians in Nigeria – Theatre 11:45 am
Greg Musselman, Minister at Large, The Voice of the Martyrs Canada; co-host 100 Huntley Street
The violence against the followers of Jesus is intensifying around the world. One of the most dangerous places to be a Christian is in Nigeria, especially in the northern part of the country. Militant Islamic groups like Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen often targets Christians, leaving a wake of destruction in their path. The Voice of the Martyrs Greg Musselman will share reports of how Christians in Canada are standing with their brothers and sisters in Christ. He will also share stories of how young people are coming to know Jesus from Muslim backgrounds, and the price they have paid for that decision.

Enhancing Discipleship in Mission Trips – Youth Room 11:45 am
Ed Vencio, Send International:
Pastors believe that mission trips are a good means of building disciples among their church members.  About 2/3 of pastors agreed that “the spiritual growth of the mission team members is the primary purpose of these (mission) trips.”  Most mission trips result in transformation of communities and peoples.  But we would also like to see these mission trips resulting lasting spiritual change for the goers/participants personally.  This workshop will offer principles and tools for enhancing the discipleship impact of mission trips.

Saturday 1:30 pm - SEMINARS  2

Intercession: The Manner of Mission – Chapel 1:30 pm
James Eagles, President of Intercede International
Christians have an unbelievable opportunity to impact the world for Christ!  However, many do not realize their full potential as Christians.  This seminar will address theological and practical ideas and experiences which revolve around the Biblical fact that all Christians are called to be Intercessors, and the full ramification of what that means in the mission fields of this world we are in. BEFORE, we can enter the Mission Field of Intercession, we need to prayerfully determine what Scripture says about us, HIS BODY, and who HE is.

Change your thinking about evangelism in your church! – Theatre 1:30 pm
John North, Founder, EvangelismSHIFT International; National Director AFCI Australia
As we think about fulfilling the Great Commission in our own communities, it should be patently clear that we will never reach this generation through the lost people who will come to our church events. But our own church people rub shoulders with hundreds of truly non-churched people every week. What would it take to activate our believers as effective witnesses for Jesus in their everyday encounters with people? John North will share some answers to this question.

Finding the Gospel in an ESL class: A 12-Year Case Study – Youth Room 1:30 pm
Rick Love, Director, Love New Canadians.
This seminar is a case study analyzing a pre-evangelistic ESL class we have taught since 2006.  About 70-80 students from various faiths (including atheists) attend each week.  They read the words of Jesus, answer questions about themselves based on Jesus’ words, and gently encounter the gospel.  We will summarize what happens in the class and then interact with seminar participants to explore the strengths and weaknesses of this strategy.

Saturday 4:45 pm - SEMINARS  3

Fruit That Will Last: The hidden challenges of returning – Chapel 4:45 pm
C.Y. Yan, Director for Connections East Asia at OMF Canada
Wei returned to his home in China full of excitement after his two years in Canada. He had come to faith in Christ and was eager to share his newfound faith with friends and family. But within six months, Wei had turned his back on Christ and joined the rat race in China. What happened?  This story is not rare: Few internationals who become Christians while overseas return well, connect with the body of Christ locally, and continue to walk faithfully. Conservative statistics show that less than 20% of Japanese and Chinese returnees connect with the church at home. How can we prepare those who have come to Christ during their season here to continue in their walk with Christ and even be light in their home countries when they return?  Please come as we explore this together and learn from one another’s experience and insight!

Top Ten Reasons to Send Workers to the Hardest Places – Theatre 4:45pm
Dallas HiebertExecutive Director Frontiers Canada
Making an inspiring case for the need to continue to send cross-cultural workers out from Canada, and to do so to the difficult places where the world's remaining unengaged people groups reside.

Relief & Development 101 – Youth Room 4:45 pm
Serving a needy world is daunting! What does it look like to live out Christ’s mandate among the poor in the world? This seminar will introduce the basics of understanding relief and development and our role in serving in Jesus name. Learn how communities are being transformed as local churches embrace integral mission and see permanent transformation in peoples' lives!
