After being closed for months, the Assiniboine Park Zoo opened up its doors once again, but with plenty of restrictions in place.

The zoo closed when the rest of Manitoba went into code red. On January 22, the zoo says on Facebook that they received confirmation from the province that they could once again open and opened up on Saturday.

However, all of the zoo's indoor exhibits will be closed until further notice, though washrooms, the gift shop, and the zoo's restaurant is open to order food from.

And, physical distancing isn't just for humans. The zoo says that people need to be on the lookout for markers, and respect all barriers and barricades to keep physically distanced from the animals.

You are also asked to buy tickets online before arriving at the zoo to help maintain contactless entry.

The zoo says that to thank the public for its patience and support during the closure they are offering 25 per cent off of admission through the end of February. You can use the promo code WELCOME2021 while buying tickets online.
