With the completion of Stadium Station, the 2017 Bombers season could be much easier to commute to.

Eventually it will be part of the rapid transit project, but for now, Stadium Station is going to ease traffic on Winnipeg Blue Bombers game days. We've compiled a list of ways to get to Investor's Group Field with something for everyone.

Rapid Transit

The new rapid transit station at the stadium will move the 200+ buses that previously lined the streets around the stadium into one bus terminal. Not only is this easier for those taking the bus, but it will also ease congestion around the stadium.

A few regular routes will continue to operate but make an additional stop at Stadium Station, which include route 75, 78 and 160. These buses will have an X in the route number.

Several regular bus routes will operate to and from the University of Manitoba, including route 60, 75, 78, 160, 162 and 170.

Park & Ride

There are several Park & Ride options which will arrive at the new Stadium Station. The buses offer non-stop service to and from the stadium starting two hours before and ending 15 minutes before kickoff. After the game, the buses will be in the new Stadium Station. The cost is $5 for a round-trip. Route include:

  • Route 1 - McPhillips Station
  • Route 2 - Club Regent
  • Route 3 - Centre Scolaire Leo-Remillard
  • Route 4 - Manitoba Hydro on Taylor
  • Route 5 - Assiniboia Downs
  • Route 6 - St. Norbert Hotel
  • Route 7 - Southdale Red River Co-op Food Store

Bike

The Bombers encourage fans to bike to the game. There is a fully secure and monitored bike storage located by gate 3, with room for 800 bikes. There are also bike racks around the University of Manitoba campus, which can hold another 300 bikes but are unmonitored.

Drive

With bus-free streets, exiting the campus should be much faster. There are 1000 cash parking spots. The traffic lights at Pembina Highway and Chancellor Matheson have also been adjusted and they will remain green four times longer to ensure easy driving out. Parking starts at $10.
