A driver's late-night actions south of Winnipeg are resulting in a court date and impounded motorcycle.

Just past Grande Point on Highway 59, officers discovered a speeding motorcycle at 11 p.m.

A 37-year-old woman driving the bike was clocked going 230 km/hour, 130 km faster than the highway's speed limit. RCMP say she suddenly drove into a deep ditch full of tall grass.

When addressing the ditched woman, police say the driver told officers her clutch was blown and decided to lay in the grass because she was tired.

RCMP say at this time, they also discovered the driver's licence was expired. Issuing five tickets, including driving carelessly, the woman is facing fines of amounting to $1785 and her vehicle was impounded.

Authorities say the fine for speeding has not been given yet, as it will be determined in court at a later date.
