Weather warnings are now in effect for much of southern Manitoba as a winter storm is on our doorstep.

A blizzard warning has been issued for the communities of Morden, Winkler, Altona, Steinbach, Emerson, Vita and surrounding areas.  More is expected to come as heavy and blowing snow is on the horizon tonight.

A winter storm warning is in place for Winnipeg, Gimli, Portage, Carmen, Beausejour and Grand Beach while a snowfall warning is in effect for most of southern Manitoba.

About 10-15 centimetres of snow is expected today with fairly high winds.

Highways in southern Manitoba and Winnipeg have partly covered sections with blowing snow and reduced visibility, reduced to almost zero on some roads.

No travel advisories have been issued.

The blizzard warning is in effect for:

A snowfall warning is in effect for:

Bissett, Nopiming Provincial Park, Pine Falls
Whiteshell, Lac Du Bonnet, Pinawa
Arborg, Hecla, Fisher River, Gypsumville, Ashern
Dauphin, Roblin, Winnipegosis
Minnedosa, Neepawa, Russell, Riding Mountain National Park
Ste. Rose, McCreary, Alonsa, Gladstone
