The weather outside is frightful, but winter activities inside are delightful. Registration starts next week in Winnipeg.

The 2018 Winter Leisure guide is available in all civic indoor pools, libraries and leisure centres. It can also be viewed online.

Starting next week, you will be able to register for a number of the activities. Non-residents of Winnipeg will have to wait until the following week.

On Tuesday, December 12 starting at 8:00 a.m., registration will open for swimming lessons only. The following day, all activities will be open to registration. Non-residents will have to wait until Tuesday, December 19.

There are three ways to register, which include:

  1. Going online to register using leisureonline. The City of Winnipeg recommends making sure your account works before registration starts, so you don't miss a spot because the account didn't work.
  2. Call 311. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  3. Head to an in-person registration centre on December 12 or 13. The Central Registration Centre is at 999 Sargent Avenue and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., while the South-East Registration Centre at 1168 Dakota Street is open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Queue numbers will be handed out starting at 7:00 a.m.
In person registration will also be accepted at Elmwood Kildonans Pool, North Centennial Recreation and Leisure Facility, Pan Am Pool, St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool and Transcona Kinsmen Centennial Pool.

A fee subsidy program is offered for families struggling with finances. Read the Leisure Guide to find out if you qualify.

Activities like dance, skating, art, and even financial management are available through the City of Winnipeg.
