Police are saying they have charged two men for possession with the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and one of the men for illegally trafficking cannabis.

Authorities say they observed a semi-truck and Jeep meeting in the parking lot of a Pembina Highway gas station on March 8.

Officers identified two men as being known to the city's Guns and Gangs Unit's interprovincial investigation. They identified one as a BC man who was known to traffic drugs across provincial borders, as well as a Winnipeg man. 

Police observed the suspects as they made an exchange for four kilograms of cocaine and then took the two men into custody.

While searching the semi-truck trailer, police found 15 kilograms of cocaine and approximately nine kilograms of cannabis.

Police seized $1,610,000 worth of illicit drugs, a suspect's Jeep, and a semi-truck.

A 42-year-old man from Winnipeg was charged with Possess Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.

A 36-year-old man from BC was charged with Possess Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Trafficking in Scheduled Substance – Cocaine, Possess for the Purpose of Distribution Cannabis, Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
