The Winnipeg Jets bandwagon got a bit bigger as Members of Parliment seemingly named the Jets as Canada's Team.

One Manitoba Member of Parliment is very excited for the Jets playoff run and decided to share his enthusiasm with the rest of the House. Sparked by his passionate speech, the entire room started chanting 'Go Jets Go'.

The Honourable Robert Sopuck, MP for Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa, stood up during the member statements to encourage all Canadians to get on the Jets bandwagon.

"After the anticipated early exit of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Jets become the only Canadian team in the hunt," MP Sopuck said, tongue-in-cheek. "Mr. Speaker, I encourage all Canadians to jump on the bandwagon of Canada's Team and join the whiteout as our Jets fight to win Lord Stanley."

The Jets have never won a game in the second round of the NHL playoffs over both incarnations of the team. No Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993, while no Canadian team has reached the finals since the Vancouver Canucks in 2011.
