Update: Station 21 is no longer in isolation.

A fire station in Transcona was in self-isolation after responding to an early-morning call.

The City of Winnipeg says that Station 21's isolation was a precaution.

Firefighters came into contact with a patient who may be at risk for COVID-19.

"The safety, health and well-being of our members and all City of Winnipeg staff is one of our highest priorities," the city says in an email to CHVN.

The city adds that Station 21's isolation will not affect public services. They say that as the pandemic evolves, they will update "all precautionary measures" concerning COVID-19.
