Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services responded to two calls on Selkirk Avenue on Monday. 

The first happened just before 9:30 a.m. when a fire in an unoccupied one-and-a-half storey house in the 700 block.

Crews arrived and found flames and smoke coming from the building. They launched an interior fire attack, declaring the blaze under control at 9:51 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Shortly later, at 10:16 a.m., crews responded to a call to a two-storey duplex in the 1000 block. 

WFPS found smoke in one of the suites upon arrival and quickly extinguished a small fire. 

No injuries were reported. 

Both fires remain under investigation, although they are not believed to be related.
