Declan Burnard faces a fourth surgery before he's even two-weeks-old if things don't turn around.

Declan was born to Jasmine and Mike Burnard on January 18. Mike is the music team leader at the Meeting Place church in Winnipeg

Just hours after being born Declan was flown to Edmonton for emergency surgery after it was discovered he was born with transposition of the great arteries (TGA).

It's been an up and down experience for the family to say the least. Declan underwent three surgeries in a short time. Then, on January 24, Jasmine was admitted to hospital with an infection. She has since been discharged.

While the third surgery seemed to be a success there remain health complications for Declan.

"We need a miracle," Mike said Tuesday in an update online.

"Declan’s diaphragm hasn’t been working and if it doesn’t start, they are looking at a fourth and more painful, surgery that would require three to four weeks to recover."

Mike asked for others to join them in praying.

"We are praying that this little diaphragm begins to work on its own. Please join us in this. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support."

In a message to CHVN last week Mike said that they had already had thousands of people praying for them. Something they were extremely grateful for.
