The Red River Ex is sharing that while they are thankful for Canada's COVID-19 efforts, they are making the "difficult decision" to cancel this year's festivities.

 Like most activities planned in the province, the Red River Ex is announcing that this year's exhibition will not take place.

Organizers expressed their remorse about the cancellation in a video, highlighting all those who participate in the festivities.

"It is heartbreaking to know their efforts won't be recognized in 2020," the Ex says in a video announcement.

2020 would have been the festival's 66th year. The Ex says they plan on returning in 2021 and look forward to seeing everyone again.

The festival says next year "we can all turn our eyes to the sky and know that we made it through together and better."
