Raw footage of worship and a secret baptism in Bangladesh show how believers are persisting in following Christ despite persecution.

Open Doors USA's local Bangladesh partners recently recorded a secluded baptism showing men and women all taking a significant public step in their commitment to follow Jesus.

Each person in the video converted from another religion to become a Christian, Open Doors USA reports.

The organization says taking the step of baptism means discrimination is likely imminent for these new believers. Taunts and pressures to renounce their new fait will grow because of their decision to become Christ followers in a country where Islamic oppression is high.

Bangladesh is currently ranked as the 38th-worst country for persecution, according to the Open Doors USA World Watch List.

Christians form a small minority in Bangladesh and usually must meet in small home churches. They are often targeted by their local communities and Islamic extremists for denouncing Islam.
