We realized this morning that's it's possible there is an entire generation or, heaven forbid, several generations, that may not know the amazing gift God gave everyone through the music of Petra.

Murray called into the Friday Morning Request Show today to hear 'Beyond Belief,' and it sent Mike down memory lane of that entire 1990 album of the same name.

If there can be only one music video to some up the late '80s and early '90s of Christian rock, then it's definitely the video for the band's single from that album, 'I Am On The Rock.'

There's plenty of big hair, mullets, leather jackets, cowboy hats with silver bands, and of course, keytars! Add to that some soaring riffs from Bob Hartman on lead guitar and the crunchy vocals of John Schlitt, and it's not hard to see why the band's 12th studio album became their biggest success.

The story told throughout the video is actually excerpts from a short film that the band released before the album. According to Classic Christian Rockzine, the film follows Chad Warren (Tony Leech), a young senior in high school, who must face the illness of his brother, David (Jason Rogers) during the summer. While David is diagnosed with cancer, Chad must compete in a huge track and field competition to get a scholarship at Angelo State. David also insists on Chad mending his relationship with their father, who recently walked out on their family.

Take a trip down memory lane and check out one of Mike's favourite music videos!
