A low-pressure system that is bringing warm air to the province is also bringing heavy winds Wednesday.

Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for much of western Manitoba as the system moves in.

The forecaster says that strong winds may cause damage.

Strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h developed overnight in areas of western and central Saskatchewan. These strong wind gusts will move southeastward through the morning.

Winds will gradually begin to taper off from west to east this afternoon and through the evening.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
