With a lot of outdoor events this coming long weekend the weather will certainly be cooperating for most people. Though it could prove difficult for a few.

Environment Canada's Natalie Hazel says that daytime temperatures above freezing are forecasted through Louis Riel Day. The models are "also suggesting rain could be a possibility for the holiday."

While many families could be happy with the mild temperatures, it will prove difficult for some people, such as those who have carved snow sculptures for Festival Du Voyageur.

The good news is that we could very well have seen the last of extreme cold for this winter. Hazel says that in the long-range forecast we do see temperatures dropping, but they'll be dropping to average temperatures for this time of the year. "We're looking at daytime temperatures of around -8 right now, so we could possibly see -10 or -15, but likely nothing lower than that."
