A volunteer Christian organization is asking people to pray for a Manitoban community as they continue to search for a man who fell off a train bridge and into a river Sunday evening.

Gypsumville RCMP say they received the report just before 10 p.m. The 32-year-old man and his younger sister were walking across the bridge when he fell off.

Officers, along with the local fire department and volunteers from the community, attended to the area and conducted a search of the river and the shoreline but have yet to locate the male.

The Manitoba RCMP says that the man is presumed deceased.

The Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response (HEART) Team is among the volunteers helping search for the man. "Please keep the community of Pinaymootang FN in Fairford, MB in your prayers as you go to sleep tonight," the team writes in an online post on Monday evening.

"There’s a family here suffering the loss of a dear son, brother, uncle and friend in the river. He fell from a bridge and we’re here to help find him in the swift flowing water. May God be with us and the rest of the searchers and grant us success."

Gypsumville RCMP continue to investigate.
