Police say that an 18-year-old has died after being shot.

At 1:50 p.m. on Monday, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call stating that a man had been shot. Arriving at the scene in the 100 block of Isabel Street, officers found the man with serious injuries.

He was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries. 

The Homicide Unit is now investigating. Those with information are asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

The Winnipeg Police Service is on the scene of a Monday-afternoon shooting. 

They say it occurred in the area near Isabel Street and Elgin Avenue. At least eight police cars are on the scene, with the intercession completely taped off. 

Isabel Street will be blocked from William Avenue to Logan Avenue until further notice.

Some schools in the Centennial area were in lockdown, but it has since been lifted.

The WPS says they will update the public when more information becomes available.
