Road construction season seems to have officially arrived, and its bringing big delays with it this week.

Urgent work on Century St.

The City of Winnipeg says that "urgent road work" is being carried out on Century St.

The City's Traffic Management Centre says that the northbound west side curb lane is closed at Ellice while crews carry out repairs.

The unexpected construction is causing large delays during the morning rush hour.

The City of Winnipeg has recommended taking an alternate route if able until the work finishes.

Pembina down to 1 lane

The City says that as work continues on the Pembina Highway underpass at Jubilee intermittent lane closures can be expected until the end of May.

While the City says that two lanes will be maintained in each direction at all times, callers on Tuesday morning said northbound Pembina was down to one lane approaching the underpass.

They said it took 35 minutes to travel from McGillvary to Jubilee.
