Union Gospel Mission (UGM) will be thankful for amazing partnerships this Thanksgiving.

Frank Ulrich, executive director of UGM, was candid when asked what it takes to put on an event like the UGM Banquet, coming up in Winnipeg on Saturday, October 13.

"It does take a number of people to be involved in an event such as this," Ulrich said.

Thankfully, UGM has been able to partner with some incredible people, including Paul Boge from Boge & Boge, who will be the keynote speaker.

"We look at how Christ is transforming lives in the inner city," Boge explained. "The message of (UGM) is exactly that. It's a union of people, presenting the gospel, but it takes an effort, it's a mission."

Another UGM partner is local artist Jordan St. Cyr, who will be performing at the 6:30 p.m. seating. St. Cyr has often seen the divide between the stage and the audience and he wants to break that.

"(UGM) is just meeting the practical needs of the people," St. Cyr said.

The amount of work they do in the city is what makes UGM special, said St. Cyr.

UGM is hosting their fall banquets around Manitoba starting September 30 in Gladstone. The team will be in Winnipeg on Saturday, October 13 for two banquet seatings. The banquet at 12:00 p.m. will feature Boge and the Tuckett Family Fiddlers. At 6:30 p.m., Boge will speak along with music from St. Cyr. Both seatings are at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church.
