Brush fires have continued to burn throughout Winnipeg and southern Manitoba, and now they've claimed the lives of two men.

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) says that both the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) and the WPS responded to a call of a fire behind a business in the 1500 block of Regent Ave West.

The call came in shortly before midnight on Friday, May 4.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they discovered two men suffering from severe burns.

Both men were transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, both men have succumbed to their injuries.

The police have no other details at this time and are continuing to investigate.
