While sorting through clothing, the staff at a rural thrift store found valuables they are hoping to return to its original owners.

"We received a donation of some rings that we feel quite strongly that the owners didn't mean to donate to us," says Lisa Letkeman, a volunteer at the Niverville MCC Thrift Store.

In the back of the store is a door to a room where people can drop of and donate any gently used items that can then be sold by the MCC Thrift Store. While people do donate jewellery, this was found hidden in other items.

"The rings were wrapped in something. Donations that come in are sorted and these items were wrapped in something and that was brought to the pricing department. Staff went to price the item and that's when the rings and other items fell out," says Letkeman.

The volunteers and staff are not naming what the valuables were wrapped in so that the actual owner can share what it was to verify it's theirs.

"We think the rings were donated at the beginning of October. We discovered them on Monday and we believe they are heirlooms."

Anyone who knows the owner of the pictured valuables, or the owner, can call 204-388-4404.

"We would very much like to find the owners of these rings and other items that came with it."
