The father who was removed from a Winnipeg apartment complex's pool in critical condition Sunday has passed away.

Ram Nivash Misra, 38, was taken to hospital with his two sons following an emergency involving the three individuals at a swimming pool in the Courts of St. James apartment complex.

Shreyaan, 11, and Aaram, 10, still remain in critical condition. Ajay Pandey, President of the Hindu Society of Manitoba, told several news outlets in the city that the boys' condition is not well.

Srikanth Tiruvayur is a co-worker of Misra's. He started a GoFundMe campaign to help support the family. Tiruvayur says that Misra was the sole income earner for the family of four.

Misra had arrived in Winnipeg last year. His wife and two sons joined him in Winnipeg just a couple months ago. The family had just moved into the apartment complex this month.
