Coming hot on the heels of a big night at the GMA Covenant Awards for Manitoba artists, the Juno Awards nominations are now out, and include three Manitoba artists.

There is only one category at the Junos for Christian music - the Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year. It just so happens that three of the five nominees in the category this year are also Made in Manitoba artists.

  • Jaylene Johnson - Potter & Clay
  • Steve Bell - Where the Good Way Lies
  • Tim Neufeld & the Glory Boys - Hootenanny!

In an online post, Jaylene Johnson said that she was, "overwhelmed by the congrats and well-wishes today. Thank you for all of the kind words." 2016 was kind to Johnson, with seven Covenant Award nominations, the Juno nomination along with the birth of her daughter. We asked her where it ranked, and she said it was definitely a high-point year.

"The birth of a child, there is really nothing that tops that."
