Ephesians 6:10–13

The problem with battling modern terrorism is we are fighting an often-invisible enemy. During the days of the Civil War, the advancing foes were often signalled by the dust that would rise from their ranks as they marched atop a dusty Georgia hillside. But few armies can withstand the insidious assault that comes without warning from inside the thick of a forest. Unseen until the damage was already done.

As believers, we too face an invisible enemy. Paul wrote these ominous words:

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’sarmor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’sarmor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm (Ephesians 6:10–13).

The negative forces you may be experiencing in your life today, whether they be discouraging thoughts, an unrelenting temptation, or even the nagging conflict with someone close to you, are likely part of the enemy’s strategy to get you off your faith game. To cause you to feel defeated and finished. God says, “Stop! Put on My armour—don’t leave the house today without first arming yourself with the truth of My Word and the weapons of My Spirit.”

Don’t try to take on life alone any longer—regardless of the nature of your battle. Let Him win this one for you. You stand firm in your armour. He’s got your back.
