Winnipeg police say they have made five arrests after a group of teens tried to steal hundreds of bottle of liquor from a store.

Investigators say the thieves were well co-ordinated and brazen during the chaotic heist. Cellphone videos circulated on social media showing the large group putting bottles into bags and clothing.

Police say some of the suspects are as young as 14.

Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries say the rate of liquor store thefts in the province remains high.

The Crown corporation says such thefts are traumatizing to employees and additional security measures are being planned.
