With the Banjo Bowl, and street festivals going on throughout the city, Winnipeg is the place to be this weekend. However, those street festivals, as well as some new construction projects, bring with them a number of street closures.

Here's a look at what's closed, and how to get around them.

Sherbrook Street

The Sherbrook Street Festival takes place this Saturday.

Sherbrook Street will be closed from Wolsely Avenue to Westminster Avenue from September 10, at 8:00 a.m. until September 11, at 1:00 a.m.

Broadway, Memorial Boulevard, Kennedy Street

ManyFest is one of the biggest street festivals around. In order to pull it off, a number of closures will take place downtown:

Broadway will be closed in both directions from Edmonton Street to Osborne Street from 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, until 10:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11.

Memorial Boulevard will be closed from Broadway to York Avenue until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.

Kennedy Street will also be closed, from the south side of York Avenue to the north side of Broadway, from 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 9, until 10:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11.

Ferry Road

The City of Winnipeg is beginning a new water & sewer project on Ferry Road this weekend.

Ferry Road will be closed between Silver Avenue and St. Matthews avenue beginning Saturday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m.  The city expects to wrap up the project by late next week depending on weather.

Marion Street

Crews will also be working on sewer repairs on Marion Street over the course of the weekend.

Eastbound Marion will be closed beginning 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, until Monday, September 12, at 7:00 a.m. One lane of Westbound Marion will remain open throughout the weekend.

Transit Re-routes

The closures will cause a number of transit re-routes this weekend. For the latest visit www.winnipegtransit.com
