If you're looking for fun happening outside of Winnipeg this week, here are several events to choose from.

March 27 to March 31

  • A children’s spring break art camp is being held at Pembina Hills Arts Council in Morden. Sessions run from 1:00 to 3:00 every afternoon. For kids ages six to ten.
  • Winkler Curling Club is offering free curling during spring break. Sessions take place from 1:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 daily. Here is your chance to try curling and keep the kids busy. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Please bring clean shoes as street shoes are not allowed on the ice.

March 27 to April 1

  • The 110th Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in Brandon. This event celebrates the best in agriculture, entertainment and equestrian competitions. More information is at royalmanitobawinterfair.com 

March 30

  • A potluck supper at Gretna Prairie Centre at 6:30 pm. After the meal, the inspiring documentary “Run The North” will be shown. This is the story of the marathon of the north in Churchill, featuring local runner Albert Martens who also happens to be the organiser of the run.

March 30 to March 31

  • WorldServe Ministries invites you to a dinner at Winkler Days Inn. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Enjoy a great dinner and hear Mattias Goossen of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers share about his recent trip to Cuba. Another dinner will be held March 31 at Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach. March 30 to April 2

  • The Manitou Last Chance Mixed Bonspiel. Register with Grant at 204-242-3388.

March 31

  • A blood donor clinic will be held at Carman Community Hall. Call 1-888-2-DONATE to book an appointment, or visit blood.ca. Walk-ins are welcome.
  • A listener appreciation banquet in support of The Gospel Message Low German radio program is being held at Winkler Sommerfeld Church. For more details call Abe and Martha Heppner at 204-325-9906 or Ike and Tina Wall at 204-325-5131.
  • Winkler Arts and Culture is holding a Spring Wreath class at 7:00 pm. Cost is $40 which includes supplies and snacks.

April 1

  • Canadian Firearm Safety courses will be held at the Altona Millennium Exhibition Centre. Non-restricted will be held April 1st and Restricted follows on the 8th. Cost is $100 per course or save 20% if you register for both. Contact Altona Rec office to register.

April 2

  • Southern Manitoba Concerts welcomes the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in concert at 7:00 pm at Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church. Complete details can be found at southernManitobaconcerts.org.
  • Salem Foundation invites you to enjoy an afternoon of “Faspa, Fellowship and Song” at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church. Music by Glorybound and Christians of the Gospel Faith Church Instrumental Group begins at 3:30, followed by Faspa in the church fellowship hall. Proceeds from the freewill offering go to bathing room upgrades at Salem Home.
