Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of Manitoba as a Colorado Low approaches.

Environment Canada says that heavy snowfall, with accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres, is expected over southeastern Manitoba on Sunday.

A low pressure system in the United States will spread an area of snow through the Dakotas and Minnesota tonight. Snow will reach southeastern Manitoba by Sunday morning when heavy snow will begin over southeastern parts of the province. Snow will taper off late Sunday.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Travel south of the border could be especially difficult and dangerous. Fifty centimetres of snow is possible for some areas of North Dakota and Minnesota. Mixed precipitation and ice is also possible in some areas.

The worst of the storm is expected to miss the City of Winnipeg, though 5 to 10 centimetres of snow is possible.
