Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for parts of southern Manitoba.
Environment Canada said in a release that periods of brief but intense snowfall are expected. Visibilities will be rapidly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow.
A sharp cold front is bringing brief but heavy snow flurries to portions of southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba. At 2:30 p.m. CDT radar showed the line of heavy flurries extending from Moosomin, Saskatchewan to Dauphin and north of Hodgson. The line is pushing southeastward at about 60 km/h. Visibilities within the line will drop to near zero for brief periods of time.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.
