John Cooper, the lead singer of Skillet, is speaking boldly about his faith and encouraging others to do the same.

Skillet released the first single off their new album on Wednesday, called 'Surviving the Game.' The song leans heavily on the band's initial rock roots, hitting fans hard with guitar and drums.

"A defiant song about not giving in to the fear that the world is and has been experiencing. This song brings a feeling of survival; you have to do what you need to do in order to get your life back," says Cooper to New Release Today

The new album Dominion is set to be released on January 14, 2022.

"[This song is a] defiance against fear and the things that want to hold you down - for so many that's depression, isolation, loneliness, suicidal thoughts, etc. This song is about becoming the person you are meant to be and coming out on the other side of all the madness."

The book Awake and Alive to Truth: Finding Truth in the Chaos of a Relativistic World written by Cooper, is the most recent step in his vocal advocacy against societal issues that affect the faith of believers.

Cooper is hoping to inspire the next generation of Christians as he partners with Focus on the Family in the USA with their Bring Your Bible to School Day 2021 initiative.

"I really believe that the Bible is the answer the world needs. On October 7, you can meet that need in a really easy way," says Cooper on YouTube. "Join over 500,000 other students for the nationwide movement to bring the transformative love of Jesus into your school."
