Highway 3 was closed for several hours Thursday evening and early Friday morning following a serious collision.

The Manitoba RCMP says they were called to the crash three miles south of Oak Bluff around 8:35 p.m.

RCMP had asked people to avoid the area and Manitoba Highways tweeted just before 9:30 p.m. that the highway was closed.

There was no word on the extent of injuries, however, STARS Air Ambulance says in a tweet that they were also called to the scene.

There was also no word on how many vehicles were involved or what led to the crash.

Manitoba Highways tweeted at 3:20 a.m. that the highway had reopened.
