These kids are experiencing snow for the first time while on a cross-Canada tour from Uganda

Chantel Hertes is the Tour Manager for the Sawuti Choir explained that the tour is called the 'Sing Together One Voice Tour.' It's in partnership with  Return Ministries and Seven Wells Ministries.

The kids are from Uganda and range in age from seven to 15. They came to Manitoba last Tuesday right into our deep freeze weather. The kids were outfitted with winter gear and saw snow for the first time. The cold didn't deter them from playing in it the very next morning.

"We were so amazed about the weather," one of the boys said. "We like the people, they are so welcoming. It reminds us of home."

The cross Canada tour will consist of 100 performances over the next six months and wrapping up in Montreal on Canada Day.

Hertes said that this tour not only showcases the African spirit, and what these kids are as they are worshippers, this also has an Israel aspect to it as well bringing Jews and Christians together to sing together because music brings everyone together.

"We are working with Return Ministries to make this just a very unique tour for Canada," Hertes said.

The concerts consist of about 13 songs,  three different dances, and a talking drum.

The Sawuti Children's Choir is still looking for one chaperone to accompany them across Canada, with experience driving in winter conditions. For more information, you can contact them on Facebook  or sawuti.org
