That's a wrap for the 2017 Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival, and what a year it was.

In its 7th year, the film festival continues to grow. A record number of people came through the box office at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church.

Organizer Paul Boge was thrilled with the response from the public. "It's been absolutely fantastic to see. A big thanks to everybody that came out."

A big part of the festival's success, Boge notes, comes from the many volunteers. 75 people gave their time this year to help with the nearly week-long festival.

As for next year's festival? Boge says the planning has already begun. "We'll take a few weeks off now - about three or four - but we've actually already started planning for 2018."
