Country music superstar Reba McEntire says that the Holy Spirit is an important part of her everyday life.

“The Holy Spirit was left behind to comfort and guide us, and I rely on that strength each and every day,” McEntire says in an interview with The Christian Post. “I just pray that the Holy Spirit guides me, speaks for me, helps me down those stairs.”

McEntire says that her faith is behind her long and successful career. “It’s all God; He’s the reason for everything I do,” she says. “I pray that I will find songs to record that will touch people’s hearts and heal their hearts. Before I go on stage, I ask the Holy Spirit to touch people in the audience, if they need healing or comfort.

“Music has allowed me to do wonderful things God intended for the people who are listening.”

McEntire releases a Christian album called Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope in 2017.

“When you do something that you love, it’s not a job; it’s a lot of fun. The gospel album was a passion project for me,” she told the Post. “It inspired me to get back in the studio. I couldn’t do it by myself and I wouldn’t even want to. God put a great team of people around me, believers who know where all this inspiration is coming from. I give Him the glory for all of it.

“When people listen to my music, I want them to get happiness, joy, healing — something out of them instead of just adding 3.5 minutes of your time,” she said. “Whether it’s a tear or giggle or laugh or memory that it drudges up, I hope they feel something.”
