A 29-year-old Alberta man is in custody after the Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit found a large amount of cocaine in his vehicle.

On March 29, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., RCMP stopped a westbound vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of Reynolds.

The Manitoba RCMP says that officers had reason to believe the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old male from Alberta was in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Officers stopped the vehicle before conducting a search where they found 61 kilograms of cocaine in the rear of the SUV. 

Officers seized the cocaine and took the driver into custody. Charges have not been laid at this time.

The investigation continues.
