RCMP see increase of petty theft as temperatures warm

With the warm weather here to stay, Manitoba RCMP is reminding residents to lock up your valuables.

Police report the detachment is still receiving several calls per week that people have items stolen from inside their vehicles. With temperatures on the rise, more activity occurs during the night, and leaving your mode of transportation unlocked is an easy target for thieves.

The RCMP warns motorists to always lock their doors to vehicles day or night. RCMP adds thefts even occur in parking lots during the day as vehicles are being entered and rummaged through.
