Police are searching for a 23-year-old suspect following a fatal altercation in Dauphin, Man., over the weekend.

The Manitoba RCMP says in a release that police were called to a home in the 100 block of 7th Avenue SE at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived they found a deceased 32-year-old man in the home.

Police say they were also told that an 18-year-old male had been injured in the altercation and had gone to hospital. That victim has been treated and released.

The RCMP says Nicholas Ryan-McKinnon, 23, is currently wanted for second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Ryan-McKinnon is described as 6’ tall, 165 lbs, with light-brown hair, and blue eyes. Nicholas Ryan-McKinnon is from British-Columbia but has been living in the Dauphin area since December 2019. He may still be in the Dauphin area.

Investigators with Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
