Authorities say they have found the body of a 42-year-old refugee who went missing after his boat capsized.

On Saturday, June 13, Nour Ali went missing after a boat him and others were in overturned. Five people were on the boat fishing when it overturned on Lake Winnipeg near Belair. Three of the five occupants were rescued at the scene, and one, a 73-year-old man, was brought to shore and pronounced deceased. 

This afternoon at 2:50 p.m. Manitoba RCMP, along with the Hutterite Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART), and the Canadian Coast Guard recovered the body of the missing 42-year-old man. 

RCMP are thanking a 46-year-old male from the area who was first on the scene, saving the life of one of the boaters.

"RCMP would like to thank all the first responders who assisted in the search including HEART, Canadian Coast Guard, Victoria Beach Fire and Rescue, CFB Trenton, and the countless community members who came out every day," Manitoba RCMP says in a statement.

RCMP Manitoba is continuing to investigate this incident.
